Vacancy: freelance production manager

Rover is the dance company of choreographers and dancers Roshanak Morrowatian and Mami Izumi. We create interdisciplinary dance performances around current themes such as migration, gender and cultural conflicts. Rover is based in Maastricht, but works nationally and sometimes internationally.

We are looking for a production manager from August 2024. The focus is on production work for the new performance Alphabets of Flesh, which will premiere in October at the Dutch Dance Days in Maastricht.

What are you going to do?

  • Coordinate and support the entire production process. You take sustainability into account;
  • Coordinate studio use by Rover and partners;
  • Act as a central point of contact for everyone involved in the production, both artistically and behind the scenes (technical, PR, etc.);
  • Record and monitor the overall planning for the rehearsal, (pre-)editing and premiere period. You also make a weekly production plan;
  • Arrange any accommodation in consultation with the business director;
  • Arrange catering during the (pre-)assembly and premiere period;
  • Communicating about production, artistic and technical matters with external partners of Alphabets of Flesh, such as ICK Dans Amsterdam, Parkstad Limburg Theaters and Dutch Dance Days.

You work largely from Heerlen and Maastricht, where the majority of Alphabets of Flesh rehearsals take place, but you are willing to travel to other parts of the Netherlands every now and then.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can plan and organize well;
  • Is curious and has an affinity with dance and theater;
  • Is decisive, social and flexible;
  • Masters the English language (Dutch is easy, but not necessary).

We are looking for someone for the period from August 1 to October 19, 2024 for a maximum of 20 hours per month plus the following performance days: October 4 to 6 and October 10 at the Dutch Dance Days in Maastricht and October 16 to 19 at Frascati in Amsterdam. Presence here is a must.

What do we offer?
An inspiring freelance assignment where you get the opportunity to help make Rover’s latest dance performance possible. Together with a small, enthusiastic team you work according to Rover’s motto ‘less productions, stronger productions’.

You can arrange your working hours quite flexible.

Rover charges an hourly rate of 45 euros excluding 21% VAT. In addition, your travel expenses will be reimbursed. Days on which the performance takes place count as full days. The daily rate of 300 euros applies for this. Invoicing takes place monthly in arrears.

For more information and to apply, please contact Mami Izumi, Creative Producer of Rover. She can be reached via and T +31 (0)6-46607819.

You can apply until June 28th.

We are looking forward to your reaction!
