Awarded the Performing Arts Fund

We ended 2022 with good news from the Performing Arts Fund: Roshanak Morrowatian has been awarded the ‘new creators’ grant. Under the guidance of Suzy Blok (head artist space) of ICK Dans Amsterdam, Roshanak will invest in her further development as the creator and artistic leader of Rover in 2023 and 2024. According to the subsidy committee, her work makes a significant contribution to the pluralism within contemporary dance. “Morrowatian’s cultural background is embedded in her dance language, and moreover she combines dance and spoken word in her work. This combination knows only a limited presence on Dutch stages and festivals.”

The committee also notes: “Multidisciplinary work has already started, her work has already been produced and she has already started building her own network. This gives the committee confidence in the further development of Morrowatian’s own artistic signature.”

The development process will start in January 2023. Development partners are ICK, DOX, Korzo, Parkstad Limburg Theaters and VIA ZUID. Presentation partners are CaDance Festival, De Meervaart and Frascati.
